Weekend activities

It's a perfect summers day in Cape Town, with not one cloud in the sky. There are a few exciting activities taking place this weekend, I will be visiting the Design Indaba exhibition shortly with a few friends. This expo is for young and upcoming designers who come together to broadcast their designs and creations. The Design Indaba is held at the Cape Town Convention Centre every year around February, this expo fully supports the South African way of "local is lekker". Creative professions such as fashion design, graphic design, visual art, architecture and many more occupations are highly supported throughout this exhibition. I'm very excited to see all the different designs, gain knowledge and inspiration for my upcoming collection.

The beginning of the end...

I was really looking forward to starting off this year at Fedisa. Third year at fashion college has been quite an adjustment compared to last year, more leeway was granted for personal choices of fabrics for garments, our collection designs and free range artistic flare. Fedisa has a very broad range of talented students each with their own unique sense of design and styling. This year looks to be very promising with a large variety of designs and collection outcomes. Starting off with art and design in our first week of college was a little intimidating due to the new work load however at the same time it was all very exciting to begin with new concepts and initial collection ideas and designs.
